Changes to Timetable and Fees announced ahead of the new season
07 May 2023
As we approach the new academic year and new swimming season, we are looking forward to getting back into the pool and working towards another season of personal bests, improvements in our swimmers and ultimately county, regional and maybe national recognition.
Over the Summer we have had to deal with several challenges to ensure we remain competitive, whilst being fair to all our members and making best use of the resources we have at our disposal.
With the resurrection of the learn to swim programme at Ribblesdale Pool and changing availability at Stonyhurst, we have had to make changes to our session times to accommodate our pool operators. We have only been made aware of some of these changes late into the summer hence the last-minute update, so please accept our sincere apologies that we have not been able to inform you earlier.
With these imposed changes, a changing dynamic within the club with regards to an increase of new swimmers and a reduction in older swimmers, all of which is happening at a time of increased energy prices and cost of living which will impact on pool costs. Therefore, we have had to review the timetable and fee's structure.
Timetable
The aim of the timetable review was to
- Maximise pool space
- Increase training time for D1, D2, D3 with longer sessions for older swimmers and earlier sessions where possible for younger swimmers
- Splitting our Dolphins group to allow smaller swimmer numbers to allow more attention and flexibility for attending sessions
- Minimise changes to training evenings
- Make space for those swimmers' graduating from the Learn to Swim programmes at Stonyhurst and Ribblesdale so they can transition into Dolphins and enable us to support the next generation of swimmers
Below is the new timetable which significantly increases pool time for our top 3 groups and reduces numbers in our Dolphins groups.
Dolphins parents will shortly receive a separate email asking them to select which 2 sessions they wish to attend, so please can I ask you to reply at your earliest convenience so we can ensure our registers are updated.
