These integrations are made possible by the launch of a new secure Application Programming Interface (API), which allows approved systems used across the swimming community to connect directly with Swim England’s databases.

The result is a more reliable and user-friendly experience for organisations and individuals nationwide – saving time, reducing manual data entry and cutting down on errors.

Developed in direct response to feedback from affiliated clubs and Swim England members, the API has been designed to ease the burden on club volunteers, reduce errors across platforms, and support the creation of a more connected ecosystem within the sport.

Josh Hardy, Head of Membership Marketing and Engagement, said:

“This is a really important step in improving the experience for volunteers and members in swimming. By working with widely used systems, we are reducing admin time and making sure people have access to accurate data. It is also a small step towards our strategic goal of a connected digital eco-system, with more to follow in 2026.”

Swim England continues to work closely with SportsEngine (formerly Team Unify) to ensure that their clubs and members can also benefit from this development, hopefully with an announcement later this year.

Furthermore, the organisation would like to thank the volunteer project group who helped guide the development of this API, ensuring it works for the real needs of clubs on the ground. Their input has been central to create a tool that is both technically robust and practically useful.
